After a midweek that saw two fantastic finishes, a couple upsets, and a few solid performances, I feel that those games definitely equaled, if not surpassed the expectations coming into them. We saw Tottenham, down 4-2 with 5 minutes to play, score 2 goals to tie it, at Arsenal. Just as exciting, we then saw Premiership Talk’s Wednesday Wonder, Marouane Fellaini, score a 90th minute goal to beat Bolton in their own stadium. Also, Stoke and Middlesbrough had huge wins over Sunderland and Manchester City, respectively. How much better can …

Following what we can all agree was utterly astonishing news regarding Harry Redknapp’s switch to Tottenham, Tony Adams has taken over at the Fratton Park helm, an appointment which has initially gone down rather well with the Portsmouth faithful.
Its evident that Tony Adams has been weighing the job up ever since Redknapp approached the ex-Gunner to become his number 2 way back in 2006 following an unsuccessful spell as Wycombe Wanderers manager; a theory which Harry openly admitted in his first Spurs press conference.
Adams, 42, seems more than excited at …

Following Hull City’s 3-0 defeat at the hands of Chelsea the other night, Brazilian star Geovanni has managed to walk away from the game with a big confidence boost, having impressed fellow countryman Luiz Felipe Scolari.
Scolari was full of praise for the new fans favorite at the KC Stadium, and admired what the 28 year old has contributed to his side’s amazing start to life in the Premier League. With 4 goals already to his name, rumors have circulated regarding a possible recall into the prestigious national side for Geovanni, …

Who is Marouane Fellaini? Well if you still don’t know who he is after Saturday’s match against Manchester United, you two better get acquainted. He may only be 20 years old, but he is an important member of the Everton first-team. On Saturday, he had an amazing day on the pitch, and it all culminated with a 63rd minute header goal. This Belgian midfielder means business, and he doesn’t care that he only has 2 years of first-team experience. He is already attracting attention from bigger clubs all around the …

After this past weekend’s outcomes, it is safe to say that several teams dubbed it “the revival.” Tottenham got their first win of their season under their new manger, Harry Redknapp. Everton played well at home and was able to draw Manchester United. Hull won big at West Brom to prove that they are no slouches. Sunderland was able to win the Tyneside Derby. And Liverpool snapped Chelsea’s 86-game home unbeaten streak. What will these midweek matches have in store? We can only hope that they can somewhat live up …

Yesterday afternoon, Liverpool finally ended Chelsea’s fantastic home record of 86 games without a loss with a superb 1-0 win. It was a deserved triumph for Rafael Benitez’s side achieved without Fernando Torres and the first setback for the reign of Luiz Felipe Scolari at Chelsea. Although the score should’ve been  higher, Liverpool fans will have went home delighted at the way their team has performed so far this season. And so far, the Anfield club are looking like a serious title challenger.

First they beat current champions Manchester United, and add …

Football is a funny old game, eh? A highly rated reputable foreign manager has 9 games to get a win, with his own players, own staff and his own methods to aid him, and manages to pick up a mere 2 points. Harry Redknapp on the other hand, has literally less than a day in the job, meets his predecessor’s players hours before kick-off, and turns a no-hope strike partnership into one which flourishes in the first time of asking.

Wasting no time in making him a favorite at White Hart …

Is the beautiful game rapidly turning ugly? Thats the debate which has been dominating our headlines ever since the Russian invasion of Chelsea, and even more recent, Manchester City becoming the latest club to injected with a lucrative foreign investment. But surely with all the Premier League’s infrastructure in place, our game is not at risk? Is it?

Trigger happy Tottenham have axed head coach Juande Ramos, as well as sporting director Damien Comolli and first team coaches Gus Poyet and Marcos Alvarez. And Spurs have been just as quick in finding their new manager as they have been in sacking their current one. Harry Redknapp has stepped down from his Portsmouth post, and the veteran coach, who has previously worked with Tottenham’s London rivals West Ham, will now take the reins at White Hart Lane.
Spurs’ situation looks grim even at this early part of the season, with just two points taken from …
